Format

Three-hour webinar including theoretical presentations with clinical examples and discussions with participants.

Goals

  • Recognize more quickly the signs of the presence of pathological personality issues in clients/users by observing their behaviors;
  • Understand the pitfalls and obstacles that the psychological and behavioral functioning of these people creates in the physical rehabilitation process and in their lives;
  • Understand the compensatory (pathological) relational mode that enables the person to maintain a certain level of functioning by anesthetizing their painful emotions;
  • Understand the emotional and cognitive disturbance that this psychological and behavioral functioning creates in the therapist;
  • Learn more productive communication and intervention styles, in a physical rehabilitation context, according to the different pathological personality issues.

3. Emotional contagion and typical emotional reactions induced in the therapist;

4. How the compensatory relational mode derails the therapeutic relationship;

8. Examples of interventions in a physical rehabilitation context;
